Bacon and eggs

.. and half a biscuit!

Whew! It’s been a rough week, probably the worst yet. Since my last post I have not eaten much of anything, had diarrhea, head congestion and almost constant gagging/retching. Not a very pretty litany, but, hey, that’s my blog!

I haven’t felt like posting physically, and emotionally I wanted to wait until I felt on the way out of this hole before doing so. This morning I ate the aforementioned breakfast and am at last hopeful that I am beginning, if only just, to crawl out of this thing. I typically feel better in the morning and realize that I must still take it very easy today, but I wanted to be able to fire off something to let everyone know I was still in there slugging, so to speak.

Special thanks to Cynthia White, Tony Brock, Stacia Roberts, Max Heine my Cursillo Reunion Group and especially the Rev. Ken Fields for their support! Love all around!

Hey Tim,
I've been checking your blog spot quite often. I'm sorry that you had such a bad week. Glad you managed to eat some breakfast this morning. Hope you are feeling still better this afternoon and tomorrow. May the good Lord bless and keep you.
Love Uncle De

So very interesting how 'fate' brings things together... My blog just so happened to be next to your blog when it states to view another blog.

At the age of 30, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma in my sinus cavity... At the time I was living in Arkansas and MD Anderson provided me with the diagnosis. I then got a second opinion from Johns Hopkins (who verified that I had Lymphoma but in their opinion it was Stage IV versus MD Anderson's opinion of stage I) In my case the treatment protocol was the same. Chemo every 3 weeks for 6 to 8 rounds. I too lost my hair (I figured I should have sold the side of my head for advertising space because of the number of looks that I got from the folks in small town Arkansas.)

Everything you have written has reminded me of my journey. The angels that come into your life for one brief instant; the wonderful nurses; and yes the awful side effects of chemo. Interestingly enough, bacon was one of the few foods that I could tolerate. I ended up eating about 1/2 pound of bacon per day the days following a chemo treatment. It seemed it was the only thing that I could stomach.

I am coming to a new chapter of my journey - 5 years of remission. My diagnosis date was 11/22/1999 and last chemo was in April 2000... I was able to get through it with the help of good doctors/nurses, family, and of course God.

I will leave you with this... wherever you are on the spectrum of trusting God... live by these three words

TRUST GOD MORE

and all will be well.

I look forward to reading more of your journey.
Michael
